"Bischof Altmann von Passau hat die Kirche im Jahre 1070 zu Ehren des hl. Stephanus eingeweiht. Abt Pezelinus bestimmte den Platz der Kirche. In der Mitte des 15. Jahrhunderts erhielt die Pfarrkirche jene spätgotische Gestalt, in der sie sich noch heute im wesentlichen zeigt. Die Barockzeit brachte am baulichen Teil der Kirche wenig Änderungen. Die Inneneinrichtung erhielt aber ein gänzlich anderes Aussehen (drei Altäre)." (visit link)

Bishop Altmann of Passau, inaugurated the church in 1070 in honor of St. Stephanus. Abt Pezelinus determined the place of the church. In the mid-15th century the church got the late-Gothic shape in which it still appears today. The Baroque period brought little changes to the construction of the church. But the interior was a completely changed (three altars).
