Turner's Falls River Culture held a contest for the design of a bicycle tender to be installed on the sidewalk near the Shea Theater in downtown Turner's Falls, MA. The design by Annaliese Bischoff was selected as the winner. She joined forces with Gary Galvani to create a circular design featuring a pair of leaping salmon. The street side of the bicycle tender has a smaller salmon, jumping counterclockwise, with a somewhat sad expression while the larger sidewalk side has a larger salmon, jumping clockwise, with a happier expression. The expressions are inspired by the familiar sad (drama) and happy (comedy) theater masks.
