"Chiesa di S. Valentino a Villandro
Vicino alla strada che conduce da Chiusa a Villandro è ubicata la chiesa di San Valentino. Si tratta di una costruzione a navata unica che si prolunga nel presbiterio con un campanile laterale a guglia. La prima documentazione risale al 1303. Intorno al 1400 la chiesa fu distrutta da un incendio e in fase di ricostruzione ricevette al posto del soffitto piano una volta a stella gotica. L’altare all’interno della chiesa è un bel lavoro di scultura neogotica e rappresenta San Valentino Vescovo e San Valentino Prete al lato di Maria Vergine. (costruito attorno al 1870). Sulla facciata occidentale si possono ammirare preziosi affreschi di San Cristoforo, della crocifissione di Gesù e Sant’Anna con Maria Vergine è Gesù. Sono figurine delicate con drappeggio rotondo e morbido. Ornamenti sulle aureole e cornici con ornamenti geometrici sono tipici per il stile bello il quale raggiunse Tirolo intorno al 1400." "An der Straße von Klausen nach Villanders steht die Kirche zum hl. Valentin. Die Kirche zum hl. St. Valentin ist ein einschiffiger Bau mit gerade abschließendem Presbyterium (Chor) und einem seitlichen Spitzturm. Die Kirche wird 1303 erstmals erwähnt, ist um 1400 abgebrannt und erhielt bei der Erneuerung an Stelle der Flachdecke das heutige, sehr schöne gotische Sterngewölbe. Der Altar im Inneren ist eine gute neugotische Schnitzarbeit und zeigt zu den Seiten der Gottesmutter die beiden Hl. Valentin, den Bischof und zur Linken Mariens den hl. Priester (um 1870 entstanden). Wertvoller Kunstbesitz sind die Fresken an der Westfassade der Kirche: der hl. Christophorus als Patron gegen einen jähen Tod, eine Kreuzigungsgruppe und die Mutter Anna mit Maria und dem Jesuskind. Es sind zierliche Figuren mit weichem, rundem Faltenwurf. Gemusterte Heiligenscheine und Bildrahmen mit geometrischem Ornament kennzeichnen diese Bilder als vorzügliche Werke des sogenannten weichen Stils, der um 1400 auch Tirol erreicht hat." (visit link)
