We were on our way west out of town to locate what remains of the Knob Hill Mine when we spotted this Aerie. What a pleasant surprise it always is when we find something so unexpected.

Aerie No. 68 is one of the first chartered FOEs. It was established in June of 1900 and celebrates its 116th anniversary this year (2016).

It is a fairly large free standing building with a mural on the NW end of the front. An interesting mural, it has the Eagle's mascot, a bald eagle, in the upper left corner, while a prospector pans for gold in the bottom right corner. In 1900, when this Aerie was established, gold mining was the sole reason for the existence of the town of Republic.

Their meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month at 7:30 pm. The Auxiliary meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7:00 pm.

Their hours of operation are 12:00 am. to 12:00 pm during the week and 12:00 am to 9:00 P.M. on Sunday.
