EN: The airfield Fricktal-Schupfart is an airfield in the Canton Aargau with two parallel grass runways. It lies on a plateau between Schupfart and Wegenstetten on an elevation of 545 meters above sea level.
The airfield had a precursor on a plain near Sisseln about five kilometers north of Schupfart, which was operated from 1947 to 1965. In the mid-1960s, the area was overbuilt with industrial plants, and the airfield moved to a new location in Schupfart.
The airfield is the home base of Motorfluggruppe Fricktal and Seglfluggruppe Basel Fricktal, both have their own fleet, together some 10 motor airplanes and 20 gliders. In Schupfart scenic flights and flight schools are offered. The restaurant next to the landing strip is a popular destination.
DE: Der Flugplatz Fricktal-Schupfart ist ein Flugplatz im Kanton Aargau mit zwei parallelen Graspisten. Er liegt auf einer Hochebene zwischen Schupfart und Wegenstatten auf 545 m.ü.M.
Der Flugplatz hatte einen Vorläufer auf einem Feld bei Sisseln rund fünf Kilometer nördlich von Schupfart, der von 1947 bis 1965 betrieben wurde. Mitte 1960er Jahre wurde die Ebene für Industrieanlagen benötigt und der Flugplatz fand einen neuen Standort bei Schupfart.
Der Flugplatz ist der Standort der Motorfluggruppe Fricktal und der Sgelfluggruppe Basel Fricktal, die beide über eine eigene Flotte verfügen, zusammen rund 10 Motorflugzeuge und etwa 20 Segelflugzeuge. In Schupfart werden Rundflüge und Flugschulen angeboten. Das Restaurant neben der Landepiste ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel.
