Cut benchmark on the south east angle, east face, of St Mary's church, Congerstone.

The Church of St Mary, Congerstone, is believed to have been built in 1179. It is now a Grade II* lisated building but it is unlikely that any of the original exists today. The oldest parts of the building are the low tower and parts of the nave.
