1215 wurde die Kirche Nikolaikirche genannt. Erst in 1388 erhielt sie den Namen „Zum heiligen Kreuz“. (visit link)

Die Kirche brannte fünfmal ab - zuletzt am am 13. Februar 1945. Heute steht sie als Stadtkirche allen Einwohnern Dresdens und auch Touristen offen. Jährlich besuchen über 200.000 Menschen die Gottesdienste und Konzerte, gut weitere 300.000 Besucher besichtigen die Kirche. (visit link)

Die Dresdener Umzüge der Montagsdemonstrationen 1989/1990 in der DDR starteten stets an der Kreuzkirche. (visit link)

The church was initially called Nikolaikirche (since 1215). Only from 1388 onwards the church was called Kreuzkirche (church of the Holy Cross). (visit link)

The church burnt down five times - last time on 13 February 1945 at the end of World War II. Today the church is open for all people. More than 200.000 people go to church services per year. Further 300.000 people visit the church. (visit link)

The Monday demonstrations in East Germany in 1989/1990 also took place in Dresden and started their way always from the Kreuzkirche. (visit link)
