I recovered this U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service 1/16 section corner from 1987 in good condition. This 1/16 section corner divides sections 4 and 9. It is a 3" aluminum cap mounted on a galvanized iron pipe rising 1 foot above the ground, with a small cairn of lava rock around the pipe's base. There are three Property Boundary signs and a Land Survey Monument sign placed triangularly around the cap and pipe.

To reach: Section corner located approx. 7.5 miles NE along highway 97 from Weed, then turn right onto a dirt track road and then an immediate left. Head NE on the track road approx. .4 miles to station on the right, approximately 15 feet east of the track road. A nearby USDA Forest Service Reference Mark (aluminum cap on post) is located approx. 10 feet south of the section corner.
