The date stone is at the centre of the six homes and is inscribed:

AD MDCCCLXV

Above the date stone is an inscription that reads:

These
six almshouses were erected
and endowed by
Thomas Robert Cutbush
in memory of his beloved brother
Robert Cutbush

All things come of thee and
of thine own have we given thee
our days on the earth are as a shadow
and there is none abiding

1 Chron Chap XXIX Verse XIV.XV

The following is taken from the Bible Hub website and is from the King James version of the Bible. The relevant parts are underlined:

14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.

15 For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.
