Die Stadt Trochtelfingen liegt auf der sogenannten Kuppenalb und hat eine Gemarkungsfläche von ca. 7916 ha in Baden-Württemberg. Die Seckach durchfließt in Nord-Süd-Richtung das Gemeindegebiet und mündet unterhalb des Lauchertsees in die Lauchert. Trochtelfingen hat 5 Stadtteile: Trochtelfingen mit Weiler Haid, Hausen, Mägerkingen, Steinhilben und Wilsingen mit insgesamt 6.333 Einwohnern (2013). Die Stadt Trochtelfingen ist staatl. anerkannter Erholungsort mit einem sehenswerten historischen Stadtkern. Besonders die mit Ochsenblut rot gestrichenen restaurierten Fachwerkhäuser sind sehenswert, dazu das Renaissanceschloss und weitere historische Einzelgebäude wie z.B. die Jugendstilapotheke. Die Tafel am Rathaus zeigt, dass das originale Gebäude von 1636 mehrfach abgebrannt ist und restauriert wurde.
The city Trochtelfingen is located on the so-called "Kuppenalb" on the suebian jura and has a district area of approximately 7916 ha. Trochtelfingen has 5 districts : Trochtelfingen with Weiler Haid, Hausen, Mägerkingen, Steinhilben and Wilsingen with in total 6,333 inhabitants (2013 ). The city is an official resort with an interesting historical center. Especially the oxblood red-painted restored half-timbered houses are worth seeing, also the Renaissance castle and other historical buildings such as the Art Nouveau pharmacy. The info at the town hall (see photo) shows that the bulding from 1636 burned down multiple times and was restaurated.
