Jack Layton was the charismatic leader of Canada's Federal New Democratic Party (NDP), who after guiding his party to Official Opposition status to the ruling Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) after the 2012 federal election, unfortunately succumbed to cancer.

His tireless work ethic, charismatic personality, and genuine compassion for the people of this country won him the respect and admiration of fellow politicians, both supporters and rivals alike.

A resident of Toronto, he always based his platform on supporting the common man. Hence, the slogan "Jack's got your back".
