This is a galvanized metal hand cranked pump. In my day we called these "cistern pumps"..
This one is unpainted and ben around a while. Oral tradition says the school closed to students in 1967, pump has been here a lot longer than that.

I tried pump it worked mechanically, but lost its prime and water (foul) trickles but did not flow

Pendleton does not have a post office, and mail goes through Warrenton 5 miles east of here.

I-70, exit 188, go south on MO B, to Pendleton, go across train tracks, then turn left on Church Rd, 2 blocks south to school road. School will be directly in front of you.

abandoned school right in town, homes on all sides so common sense and good manners will do just fine
