This iconic home in the lakeside village of Omori has always caught the eyes of anyone passing by. It is an unusual adobe construction built into the hillside with a grass rooftop, with only the garage frontage showing to the street. Now it has a Yellow Beetle parked on the garage door. The Yellow VW car has been cleverly painted to appear as if it is inside the garage with the door open. It adds to the quirkiness of this unusually attractive residence overlooking Lake Taupo's western shoreline.
The artwork can easily be viewed from the road or footpath as you pass by along Mohi Street, Omori. Please do not enter the private property.
