Short tunnel at the summit of the Wolverhampton level, part of what is known as the Birmingham Canal Navigations (BCN).
The 22 mile length of canal originally had many locks and consequently traffic was slow. In the early 1800s a new canal was cut with deep cuttings and embankments to avoid the need for locks. The new cut was 15 miles long and cut passage times dramatically. Both the Old and New lines are still used for leisure traffic.

Which End is this Entrance?: South East
