This pre-stressed reinforced concrete slab, two-lane cantilever bridge, was formed in-situ, and rests on two sets of three cylindrical concrete pylons (about 4m high, out of the water) that have a concrete beam on top to hold the road deck. The 'linear length' of the bridge would be about 11m. It has a 'thin' layer of bitumen on top of the concrete for added traction.
The rectangular steel side rails are bolted to the lower angled concrete edge of the bridge.
The road deck has a couple of degrees tilt (no camber!) down to the west and the road has a slight curve in that direction, so the slope feels normal. As a result there is only drainage from the western side.
With the ends of the bridge being built up, the fill is held back by ramps of concrete 'sand-bags', with only a low concrete parapet for the final abutment.
* There is an additional Date Plaque, on the 'northern' end, on the western side; which may be better to get, if heading north. Either will do for the Waymark) *
Oh, and the creek runs diagonally under the bridge, so the bridge has been built 'on the diagonal' to compensate for that.
