The memorial gates are dedicated to Lieutenant General Sir Talbot Hobbs and the artillery men who served under him. The gates were unveiled on November 3rd 2013 on the 85th Gunner's Day, which celebrated the centenary of the Artillery establishing their headquarters in Guildford.
The gates were made to the same 1930's design as Hobbs had as his front driveway gates
A plaque attached to the gated is inscribed -
" To my comrades who
died 1914 - 1918 that
I might live in freedom
J.J.H."
