From 550 BC when the redwood tree was born to 1950 AD when the tree fell in California. It was almost as tall as the Statue of Liberty. A sign explains:

This is a slice from the base of a giant sequoias tree that fell on its own in the early 1950’s in California. The full tree was over 250 feet tall and was over 2,500 years old at the time of its collapse. This “small” slice weighs over 2,200 pounds. California Redwoods are the largest living organisms on Earth, far exceeding the Blue Whale. Single trees can grow over 370 ft. tall and yield over 57,000 board feet of lumber, enough wood to build an entire church.
