The Martin Luther King Jr. mural is appropriately located in the Waco city park bearing his name. Painted on the cement canvas of the former train trestle, artist Ira Watkins depicts Martin Luther King Jr. during his “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963. The concrete pillar is 20’ in height. A memorial plaque reads:
Dedicated to the memory of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. whose words and deeds prove that one person can make a difference.
