"This bridge (which is a parish bridge) is insufficient to carry weights beyond the ordinary traffic of the district, and owners, drivers or persons in charge of locomotive traction engines, or other ponderous carriages of unusual weight, are hereby warned not to pass and are desired to take notice they will be held liable for any damage that may be caused by such engines or carriages passing over the same".
