Text on the memorial:
This memorial is dedicated to the 343 New York City Firefighters and Emergency Responders who perished at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. When hazards were high, they diligently pushed forward, knowingly risking their safety and lives, for the residents of the community they served. Additionally, this monument memorializes the nearly 3000 civilians who lost their lives on that dreadful day. We must never forget the loss of life at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and the field in Pennsylvania resulting from the 9/11 terror attacks on the United States of America.
