Built in 1924. Signal controlled. Another yellow bridge crossing from one San Joaquin Delta island to another. This one has a reflective mirror at the intersection before the north end of the bridge.

The drawbridges were operator controlled. Now there is a summer season and outside of that, one must phone and wait for an operator.
Bascule bridges were a novelty west of the Mississippi when this one was constructed.
Vertical clearance is 14 feet 10 inches.

Daily traffic is estimated (2009) at 1,550 vehicles / day.
Parts from the Strauss Co. of Chicago Illinois.
The deck width is 17.4 ft. It is considered structurally obsolete.
Detail includes a steel grate deck.
Characteristic of a 'bascule bridge" is the counterweights. It is NRHP eligible.
