The Faro de Buenavista (Buenavista Lighthouse) is an active lighthouse located on a promontory about 4 km (2.5 mi) north-east of the municipality of Buenavista del Norte on the northern coast of Tenerife.
A small plaque on the building shows the emblem of the Autoridad Portuaria de Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Port authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife) and the year 1991.
The lighthouse was completed in 1990/91 and is a 40.5 m (133 ft) square cylindrical concrete tower with an external spiral staircase that winds around a column in front of the main tower. With a focal height of 76.5 m (251 ft) above sea level, the light can be seen for 20 nautical miles. Its light characteristic is made up of a pattern of four flashes of white light every eleven seconds.
