In Dedham, Along Washington Street, is Brookdale Cemetery.
Brookdale Cemetery is located off East Street. The main entrance is actually off a residential neighborhood road - Brookdale Avenue. To get to it, from High Street, take a turn onto Brookdale Avenue and turn into the entrance at the curve.
The cemetery is a large burial ground in a park-like setting, similar to a cemetery like Mount Auburn. I could not find much history of the cemetery, but the sign at the entrance said that it was established in 1880. The entrance has four granite monuments rounded at the top, and an iron fence section on either side. From there, the offices and landscaping facilities are off to the right, and roads split off from there. The roads wind around the cemetery and there are many roads to graves and monuments. To the left, there are war memorials and a pond with a fountain. There are other veteran graves in at least three places in the cemetery. An article in a newspaper stated that there are over 28,000 graves buried. Findagrave has about 3,000 listed.
Dedham has a website that shows an aerial image and a form to search by name or plot number.
