Buxton is a small village in in Wollondilly Shire, part of the Macarthur region. Its name comes from the town of Buxton, Derbyshire.

Buxton is 25km from the Sydney to Melbourne freeway. People here are living a quiet and slow paced lifestyle. Recreational activities include ample bushwalking, cycling and river swimming.

In 2006, Buxton had a population of 1,699 people.
