The Lake George Gold Mine sits prominently above Captains Flat & this You Are Here map is a hand drawn plan of the mine buildings & a photographic record of what the town looked like prior to the mine's closure in 1962.

There is virtually nothing left of the mine buildings apart from the footings & many of the cottages in the photograph (152 built by Lake George Mines Ltd & rented to miners) were sold & removed upon the mine's closure.
