The mosaic has abstract parts to its design, but does have some recognisable aspects to its design.
Puerto de la Cruz is a coastal resort on the north of the island of Tenerife and the main aspect of the design does seem to consist of sea and sun.
The main part of the design has a blue background, presumably representing the sea and at the right hand corner at the top is a large sun motif. Superimposed on the blue background is a large compass rose that only has the North direction indicated.
The mosaic is on the side wall of the end of one set of apartments and is 5 storeys high.
