The bank was chartered in December 1906 and began operating in another building. This building was completed in 1908 and remains the oldest existing commercial building in Montgomery.
It was the town's only bank and served the cotton farmers in the area. The safe was stolen once and the vault still has scars from the robbery. The bank crashed financially during the Great Depression and fell victim to a voluntary liquidation in 1934.
