The church has a date stone towards the apex of the roof line at its rear. The Diocese of Bathurst refers to the it as St. Vincent de Paul Church but there are other references to it as Avoca Catholic Church. The sign on the door has Avoca in brackets. It appears that the pioneers of the district referred to it as Avoca.
