Located in the Gorgas-Manly Historic District on the University of Alabama campus is "The Round House" as it is called. An 8 sided building built in 1860 and used by cadets to stand guard.

One of only four buildings to survive the fires set by Federal troops in 1865.
The area is twelve acres of the campus on the University of Alabama including eight buildings designated in the National Register of Historic Places as the Gorgas-Manly District.
