This caboose is located at the 10th st. trailhead where the Kal-Haven Trail and the Kalamazoo Valley River Trail meet. The caboose is used by the Kal-Haven Trail Association as a gift shop that sells trail related items such as t-shirts. All proceeds from sales goes to support trail maintenance and improvements.
The caboose was made for the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railroad by Morrison International sometime in 1956. It was originally numbered as EJ&E 528. Later it was renumbered as VBSX 528.

It is a gift shop run by the trail association
