This historic Falls View Shelter was built by the CCC and until recent years was used as a visitor center for the park. A sign on the building tells the plans for the stone building:

We will be rehabilitating the former visitor center as a memorial to the CCC-Civilian Conservation Corps. Plans are underway to remove additions that were added in recent years in order to recreate the original CCC 1938-39 design. Displays will be installed highlighting the CCC Legacy at Gooseberry Falls.
