The Pembrey Inn is a detached Brewery owned pub, serving cask Ales, offering Bed & Breakfast & a Restaurant, located in the centre of Pembrey village.
located in Randell Square which once was the center of Pembrey village life both socially & Spiritually.
Close by is Saint Illtyd's church now a Church of Wales which was built after 1066, as a Catholic church by the Normans. St. Illtyd's Church as featured in the now faded & rusty Pictorial Pub Sign.
The pub started life as the Commercial Arms in 1825.
Renamed; The Pembrey Inn in 1878 a tied house belonging to Felinfoel Brewery, Wales' oldest brewery, which is still owned by the same family that started the adventure in 1878.
"The Pembrey Inn was established in 1825 as the Commercial Arms, the first landlord being Francis Randell whom Randell Square is named after. Prior to this, it was unnamed and just known as the Village Square. In the 1871 census, the pub was listed as the Commercial Inn, but it reverted back to the Commercial Arms by 1881 and kept that name until the premises were purchased by the family-run Felinfoel Brewery who renamed it the Pembrey Inn."
