In 2010 Dalton Dewhart let a troop of Boy Scouts from troop 351 in building covers and windscreens for the owl cages at the Fort Worth nature Center. This was his Eagle Scout project, which rank he attained in December of 2010.

A small plaque near the owl cage reads as follows:

"[Eagle Scout Logo]

The owl cage top cover and windscreen were designed and donated by

DALTON DEHART
for his
EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT

The project was installed by Scouts from Troop 351 on May 1, 2010
Dalton DeHart became an Eagle Scout on December 22, 2010"
