Tibidabo is a mountain overlooking the city of Barcelona. It is the tallest mountain in the area. Located at the top of the mountain are an amusement park and a famous Catholic basilica called the Expiatory Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The church is especially known for the big statue of Jesus located at the top of it. The church and the statue are visible from almost every point in the city.
The visit to the temple is free of charge but if you would like to enjoy the spectacular views from the very top of the church, you need to take an elevator for a small fee (2.50 euros). It is operational between 10:30 and 14:00 and from 15:00 to 19:00. You need to take the lift to get to the sign which is next to the elevator stop.
