These sculptures comprise 7 male figures in sitting position and looking towards the mountains. At daytime, they look like two metre high porcelain figures on steelposts up to ten metres high. Created out of resin, the figures light up in different colours at night, glowing gently from one tone to another. Installed in 2014, the figures are called “Poetas” (poets) and the number seven represents the number of parishes in Andorra.
Jaume Plensa is a Spanish artist and sculptor. Born in Barcelona, Catalonia in 1955, he studied art in the "Llotja" School and in the Escola Superior de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi. Plensa has received several international awards for his work throughout the years.
