Die Gemeinde Ahrbrück ist erst nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg entstanden. Es gab nie eine eigenständige Kirchengemeinde, Ahrbrück gehörte zur Pfarrei St. Petrus in Kesseling.

Die alten Dorfkirchen waren zu klein, um allen Gläubigen Platz für eine Messe zu geben. Daher wurde schon sehr früh darüber nachgedacht, eine größere Kirche für alle Ahrbrücker Ortsteile und die umliegenden Gemeinden zu bauen. Sie ist dem Apostel Andreas geweiht.
