Karrakatta Cemetery was established in 1898, with the first burial being Robert Creighton on April 24th 1899 (WMQA7K), the cemetery covers almost 100 hectares and contains over 200,000 interments and since the opening in 1937 of the crematorium another similar number of cremations.
