There is an interessting book about the "Ulmer Münsterplatz" (Ulm Minster Square) in the past and present and how a urban space changed.
The Cathedral Square is located in the center of the southern German city of Ulm. He is in front of the eponymous Ulm Minster. The square is bordered by many business houses that have emerged mainly after the Second World War. In addition, the place from 1991-1993 built townhouse is dominated, which represents a clear contrast to the Ulm Cathedral with its white facade and modern architecture.
At the east end of the minster square, stands the Gothic Minster with its 161.53 m high tower. In the space open to the west Hirschstrasse, the main shopping street of Ulm and pedestrian area, in the north of the alley and in the southeastern corner place the link to redesigned a new road.
The minster square is car free. Unlike most other central squares of the city no line of public transport leads about the place.
The two roads along the Minster belong in a broader sense also to the Münsterplatz and called in according northern and southern Münsterplatz.
