This branch was founded by prominent local citizens, Charles T Trafton, Caleb Sanborn, both physicians, a bookseller John G Thompson and a future Senator, John B, Nealley. By 1863, there were 237 members. In 2011 the South Berwick Odd Fellows chapter disbanded.

The building was built in 1825, by Joseph Murphy, a cabinetmakers.
