Mr. Cunningham was a person of note, as he had a brief career as a third baseman with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1931-32, before having to retire due to an injury. In 2004, he was recognized as the oldest living former Major League Baseball player.
He shares a gray, granite headstone with his wife, Madaline, and the headstone shows their names and birth/death years, with the family name at the top. The inscription on his side says, simply, "Raymond Lee 1905-2005", while Findagrave indicates that he was born 1/17/1905 and died 7/30/2005. (
