The northbound Section 1 of the Metacomet-Monadnock, M-M, Trail is 2.3 miles long. The trailhead is on Rising Corner Road in Southwick and end at Route 57 at the Agawawam/Southwick border.

The Metacomet-Monadnock, M-M, Trail is a 114 mile long hiking trail that begins at the Massachusetts/Connecticut border in Agawam, MA and ends at the top of Mt. Monadnock in New Hampshire. The trail is marked by white rectangular blazes.

The trailhead for section 1 (northbound) of the Metacomet-Monadnock, M-M, Trail is on the north side of Rising Corner Road in Southwick, MA. In an open field there is an information kiosk in the designated parking area. The M-M trailhead is marked with a sign on a metal post. From there, you proceed north through the right edge of an an open field. The trail then turns sharply right into a swampy area containing bog bridges. Once across, the trail climbs 130 feet to the top of Provin Mountain ridge and continue on to Route 57 at the Agawawam/Southwick boarder.
