A fine beach, arguably the best of the island, with a village to visit nearby.

Tarrafal became known due to the prison built nearby in the 30's and is now popular due to the fine beach, the best in Santiago island. It's a good one, kind of divided between the working place for fishermen and the leisure area for tourists. Warm water, calm sea, plenty of restaurants and a lively atmosphere.

Provided coordinates are from the entrance using the boat ramp.
Type of beach: Natural
