"Den selvejende institution ”Kongenshus Mindepark for Hedens Opdyrkere” har i 2013/2014 opført et udkigstårn på Kongenshus hede. Formålet med tårnet er at gøre det muligt for alle at opnå den optimale naturoplevelse ved frit at kunne skue 360 grader ud over landskabets helt særlige plante- og dyreliv på den 1.200 ha store fredede hede.
Tårnet er placeret i bevoksningen til højre for Naturcafeen midt på Kongenshus hede, og udkigsplateauet, som er placeret seks meter over terræn, vil være delvist sammenfaldende med bevoksningen.
Tårnet er opført i ren trækonstruktion. Taget består af træspåner, og den øvrige konstruktion fremstår ubehandlet og med tiden vil den få en patina i harmoni med naturen.
Under tårnets tag er der monteret plancher med beretninger om hedens historie. Plancherne er udarbejdet i samarbejde med Viborg Museum.
Omkring tårnet er der fri internetadgang, så alle besøgende har mulighed for at dele deres fantastiske udsigtsbilleder online med venner og familie."

"In 2013/2014, the independent institution Kongenshus Memorial Park for the Cultivators of the Heath had an observation tower erected on Kongenshus Heath. The purpose of the tower is to make it possible for all to enjoy the optimum nature experience of a 360-degree panoramic view of the landscape's plant and animal life on the 1,200 hectares of listed heath.
The tower is located in the vegetation to the right of the Nature Café at the heart of Kongenshus Heath, and the observation platform, which is found six metres above ground, partially blends in with the planting.
The tower is constructed as a purely wooden structure. The roof consists of wooden shingle tiles, and the rest of the structure has been left untreated and will, over time, gain a patina that is in harmony with nature.
Under the roof of the tower, posters have been mounted, which tell the story of the heath. The posters have been prepared in collaboration with Viborg Museum.
Around the tower, there is free Internet access, so that all visitors have the opportunity to share their fantastic photos of the view online with friends and family."
