Sittingbourne Cemetery was opened in October of 1860. In 1903 it consisted of 6 acres with 2 mortuary chapels, and was under the control of the Burial Board of 9 members (1903 Kelly's Directory). The control was passed to the Urban Council in 1910.
The main entrance is on Bell Road, although there are other access points around the perimeter.
