NGS BIL1 B 2000, MT, is a National Geodetic Survey (NGS) stainless steel rod monumented along the east side of Fly Creek Road, about 1.25 miles south-southeast of Pompeys Pillar National Monument, Yellowstone County, MT. The rod is housed in a flange and logo cap that is flush with the surface. It is about 0.33 miles north of the intersection of Fly Creek Road and Lower Canal Road leading west, 249.3 feet north of a fence T-corner, 112.2 feet northeast of a utility pole, 36.4 feet east of the centerline of Fly Creek Road, one foot west of an orange Carsonite witness post, and about 1.6 feet below the level of the road surface. The rod was monumented by the NGS in 2000 as a CORS Reference Station for the BILLINGS 1 CORS ARP station at PID = AI7658. It is stamped BIL 1 B 2000. It is in the NGS database at PID = AI8211 (

To reach from Exit 23 off Interstate Highway 94 about 28 miles northeast of Billings, MT, go south on US Highway 312 (aka South 31st Street) for about 0.2 miles to Sherrod Lane leading east.
