To locate marker from Mesa Arizona, drive north on Power Rd. to Salt River Recreation Area. Power Rd. turns into Bush Hwy. in the recreation area. Driving east on Bush Hwy., turn north on Phon D. Sutton Rd. towards campground. Park in the campground parking lot (requires Tonto Pass) or park along the road and follow GPS coordinates overland west to marker. If the nature trail from the campground is followed counterclockwise along the river, then the marker can be found approx. 400' east of its western side.
