Between 1818 and 1900 lived here 55 Jewish families.
There was a synagogue, a school, a bathhouse and a cemetery.
Around 1900, the Jewish inhabitants moved away and everything was demolished.

One tombstone is still there to reminder the unknown Jewish deaths.

The tombstone reads:

In Hebrew the year 1937 and the text "The small and great are there; and the servant is free from his master" (Job 3:19)

In Dutch: Cemetery of the Dutch/Israeli community of Willemsoord.
Burial Location: De Pol, The Netherlands.
