Circus boy Anton Mark, 12 years old, died few days after fallen off the trapeze during an artistic show in 1901 at the Grand Market Square in Saarlouis.

His grave is located at the Old Cemetery Saarlouis. On the cross of the headstone, you can see a picture of Anton, standing on a horse. Below inscribed:
“Here rests / our unforgotten / son / Anton Mark / died as result of fallen / off trapeze on Oct. 31 / 1901 at the age of 12 years”

Opening hours: May till August: 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.; September till April: 8 a.m. till dusk.

Grab des Zirkusjungen Anton Mark. Er starb im Alter von 12 Jahren, nach einem Sturz vom Trapez bei einer Galavorstellung auf dem Großen Markt Saarlouis, am 31. Oktober 1901.

Sein Grab befindet sich auf dem Alten Friedhof Saarlouis. Auf dem Kreuz des Grabsteins befindet sich ein Bild des Jungen, auf einem Pferd stehend. Darunter die Inschrift:
„Hier ruhet / unser unvergeßener / Sohn / Anton Mark / gest. in Folge Sturzes / vom Trapez am 31. Oct. / 1901 im Alter von / 12 Jahren“.
