One of a number of 'you-are-here' orientation maps to be found round Wells, This one is at the junction of High Street, Queen Street and St.Cuthbert Street.

The 'you-are-here' maps are of a standard layout in a cast metal frame between supporting legs about 2m tall. Above the map frame is a curved head carrying the WELCOME and the city shield. The 'You-are-here' tab is an adhesive sticker, in this case it is quite well worn.

Alongside the map is a list of attractions in the city and a machine which will dispense a map of the city centre for the princely sum of £2.
