Die Selbitz ist ein 36,6 km langer, orografisch linker Nebenfluss der Saale im östlichen Frankenwald und gilt als Gewässer dritter Ordnung.
Die neu gefasste Quelle liegt nahe des Wüstenselbitzer Naherholungszentrums, wo auch geparkt werden kann. Zur Quelle sind es dann noch 250 Meter.

The Selbitz is a 36.6 km long , orographic left tributary of the Saale in the eastern Franconian Forest and is considered waters of the third order.
The natural spring has been "repaired" lately.
